This year’s theme, Give to Gain, celebrates the power of generosity in leadership—the idea that when we share our time, knowledge and support, we enable others to grow while strengthening our organisations and communities.

Katherine has been part of Multiply’s journey since the beginning, bringing a career that spans tech start‑ups, multinational corporations and government. Her commitment to mentoring emerging talent, sharing knowledge across sectors and paying forward opportunities embodies the very spirit of Give to Gain. Through her strategic insight and her generous approach to leadership, she continues to help shape Multiply’s growth and culture. Today, we celebrate Katherine’s impact and the countless ways that giving unlocks progress for everyone.

1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your role on Multiply Technology’s Board.
I’ve been a part of Multiply’s journey since its inception. I have a passion for supporting founders creating new opportunities and solving problems with innovative technology. My own career journey has spanned tech start-ups, multinational corporations and government. That has given me deep insight into diverse stakeholders’ perspectives as well as skills in building partnerships across sectoral and organisational boundaries. My role on Multiply’s Board is to help the company keep sight of long-term strategy; ensure good governance; and support Natasha as she builds her team and scales the business.

2. This year’s International Women’s Day theme is ‘Give to Gain’. What does this mean to you personally and professionally?
“Give to Gain” is one of the tenets I live by, both personally and professionally. I believe in the concept of “paying forward” – putting good out into the world, helping others where I can and seeing where that leads. I particularly enjoy giving my time to mentor and coach younger women in their careers and building their confidence to take risks and achieve their goals. In my experience, being open and generous with my knowledge and networks has always led to new connections and opportunities that benefit me as much as the those whom I’ve supported.

3. Why is it important to have women represented on the Board, and how does this support progress toward gender equality in leadership?
I believe that the key to success in business stems from curiosity and creativity – coupled with drive and diligence to solve problems and see things through. This is why I invest time in engaging very young people as a STEM Ambassador to encourage them to consider the future careers in technology and science that will harness those skills. In my experience, women have these assets in abundance – developed not only through their academic and professional experiences but also through the many other roles women play as mothers, sisters, daughters, aunties, friends, mentors, etc. It’s well-established that diversity of thought leads to better decision-making and organisational performance. Women operating at Board level not only benefit the organisations they work with; they demonstrate the benefits of female leadership to society at large, and young people in particular – challenging stereotypes and biases.

4. In your view, how does sharing knowledge help accelerate the advancement of women in technology and leadership roles?
I’ve always believed that sharing knowledge is crucial to realising potential and solving problems. This is why I chair a global knowledge-sharing network that fosters collaboration across the research community, industry and government and serve as a Trustee for a national student society, amongst other roles. There are still not enough female tech leaders and having other women and allies share their insights, lessons learned and connections can accelerate their path to developing their own leadership confidence and skills.

5. Can you share an example of how collaboration has helped create a more supportive, interconnected business environment in your career?
My career has spanned from developing new global lines of business for major corporations to building international scale-up companies to leading transformative cross-cutting government policies and programmes. In each of these endeavours, success could only be achieved through working in partnership with stakeholders: whether they were suppliers; other business units/government departments; or end-users who collaborated in developing new use cases and refining solutions. Collaborating authentically – so that each stakeholder’s needs and priorities were understood and valued – not only created a more supportive working environment, it always led to better outcomes. Collaboration unleashes creativity, unlocks opportunity and greatly strengthens the ability to identify and address risks and issues that might otherwise stand in the way of success.

At Multiply Technology, this principle isn’t abstract, it lives in the way we build, collaborate and grow.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the leadership of Clarisse, a valued member of Multiply Technology’s Advisory Board. With a career spanning digital transformation, partnership development and advisory work across global organisations and fast‑scaling startups, Clarisse embodies the impact of giving deliberately to help others rise. Her decade‑long collaboration with founder Natasha has shaped not only Multiply’s strategy and governance, but also its culture—one rooted in ambition, clarity and shared success.

In spotlighting Clarisse this International Women’s Day, we celebrate how Give to Gain shows up in real leadership: through sponsorship, knowledge‑sharing, and a commitment to ensuring that opportunity is something passed forward, not protected. Her perspective reinforces a powerful truth—when leaders lift others, organisations become stronger, more resilient and more inclusive.

1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your role on Multiply Technology’s Board.
I have been working closely with Multiply Technology founder Natasha for a decade and being now part of the Board has given me a strong front‑row view of the company’s ambition, culture and growth priorities. My background spans from digital transformation to partnership development, with experience in global organisations including Microsoft and France Telecom. I also work as an independent advisor – supporting startups and scaleups to grow successfully through clearer strategy, stronger partnerships and focussed execution.

On the Board, I provide guidance and support – helping shape the strategy, strengthen governance, and make disciplined choices about where to invest for sustainable, customer-led growth.

2. This year’s International Women’s Day theme is ‘Give to Gain’. What does this mean to you personally and professionally?
To me, Give to Gain is a practical leadership principle. When we give time, sponsorship and trust – especially to people who may not yet have the same access to networks – we create stronger teams and better outcomes.

Working closely with a founder, like Natasha, who leads with both ambition and generosity has reinforced that the tone at the top matter. When leaders actively invest in others, capability and confidence grow faster.

3. Why is it important to have women represented on the Board, and how does this support progress toward gender equality in leadership?
Boards shape culture, strategy and opportunity. Having women at the table strengthens decision-making by improving challenge and reducing blind spots. It also signals internally and externally that leadership is not a narrow mould.

Visible women in governance roles help build the pipeline through role modelling and sponsorship, and support policies and talent decisions that deliver practical, lasting equality.

4. In your view, how does sharing knowledge help accelerate the advancement of women in technology and leadership roles?
Knowledge is often the hidden barrier—unwritten rules, confidence gaps, and limited access to the right networks. When leaders share knowledge openly (how decisions get made, what “good” looks like, how to build influence, and how to navigate trade-offs), it accelerates readiness and reduces the time it takes for talented women to step into bigger roles.

Sharing practical insight from real delivery – what worked, what didn’t, and why – builds credibility quickly, strengthens sponsorship, and shifts the culture from “figure it out alone” to “we succeed together,” which is essential for retaining and progressing diverse talent.

5. Can you share an example of how collaboration has helped create a more supportive, interconnected business environment in your career?
One example that stands out is leading a cross‑functional launch where product, commercial, delivery, security, finance and external partners all needed to move in step. I’ve seen this work in both large organisations and startup environments, and the common success factor is creating shared clarity early.

Instead of allowing teams to engage in sequence, I brought the right stakeholders together up front to align on the customer outcome, go‑to‑market plan, commercial model, decision rights and key risks and constraints. That shift – from handoffs to joint ownership – improved speed and decision quality and created a more supportive environment where people felt informed, included and able to raise concerns early.

The relationships and trust built through that kind of collaboration often outlast a single initiative and help create a more connected, healthier organisation.

www.linkedin.com/in/clarissecornuau/

Multiply Technology Ltd is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Cranfield University – Santander Grant in recognition of their pioneering work into AI-enabled decision-making to explore and exploit new commercial applications for existing technologies.

The funding supports the industrial application of Multiply CEO’s, Natasha Allden’s, cutting-edge PhD research with Cranfield University into decision-making for new commercial applications. While many businesses recognise the value of new commercial applications through outbound transfer, few actively pursue it, and even fewer have access to practical guidance on how to do it well.

The insights from the research inform the design of Multiply’s AI-enabled decision-making platform, enabling technology and engineering firms to confidently and rapidly identify, qualify and pursue new commercial applications for their existing technologies.
